Solar Power Plant - environmental friendly technologies

Town of Cloncurry, Queensland, Australia became the first city in Australia that all its electricity needs met by solar power plants with the latest technology. Generating $ 30 million (approximately USD 225 billion) is capable of storing heat energy in the heat collector unit before being converted into electrical energy.

Heat from sunlight is captured by 8,000 mirrors that follow the movement of the Sun continuously and stored in 54 thermal receiver towers containing graphite box. Water is pumped through the blocks to generate steam which in turn will drive the turbine electric generator. Because the heat stored in graphite box, steam can be generated 24 hours a day, allowing turbinnya remain functional in cloudy weather and at night.

Power plant in the city which is 1700 km from Brisbane is superior in terms of environmentally friendly, contain no toxic materials, and produces no waste and pollution. When in full production, it will generate 30 million KWH electricity a year, more than enough to meet the electricity needs of Cloncurry.
